Kosovo Olympic Committee joins the European Olympic Committees EU Office as partner

The European Olympic Committees EU Office (EOC EU Office) proudly welcomes the Kosovo Olympic Committee among its partners.

The EOC is the umbrella body for Europe’s 50 National Olympic Committees and works to spread the Olympic values and inspiring sport and healthy lifestyles across Europe. Thanks to the EU Office of the EOC, the organisation defends the interests of Olympic sport organisations at EU level and has built strong connections with EU policymakers.

The Kosovo Olympic Committee is the highest sports institution in the country, dedicated to advancing, promoting, and protecting the Olympic Movement while embedding the principles and values of Olympism across the nation.

The EOC EU Office is proud to formalise its partnership with the Kosovo Olympic Committee, building on a relationship that began through their involvement in the Erasmus+ projects OCEAN (climate action) and, more recently, SAFE HARBOUR (safeguarding). This collaboration not only supports the Kosovo Olympic Committee in achieving its specific objectives but also provides access to the EOC EU Office’s broad expertise and network on issues shared across the organised sports movement.

By partnering with the EOC EU Office, the Kosovo Olympic Committee will benefit from an experienced team offering expert guidance on EU affairs, with a strong focus on funding opportunities, sport governance, and EU legislation affecting sport.

The President of the Kosovo Olympic Committee Ismet Krasniqi commented; “It is a great pleasure that the Kosovo Olympic Committee has become one of the partners of the EOC EU Office. This is an important step that allows us to be closer to European processes, to strengthen the voice of Kosovo sport at the international level, and to benefit from the experience and networks this office offers. This partnership will help us further advance sport in our country and promote Olympic values among youth and society as a whole.”

EOC President Spyros Capralos said; “We are very pleased to welcome the Kosovo Olympic Committee as a partner of the EOC EU Office. This partnership is an important step in strengthening the ties with European National Olympic Committees and advancing the Olympic Movement. Kosovo’s dedication to developing sport nationally, promoting Olympic values, and engaging with the wider European sporting community will bring valuable perspectives to our shared work”

EOC EU Office Director Folker Hellmund concluded; “I am delighted to welcome the Kosovo Olympic Committee as a partner of the EOC EU Office. Their active involvement in Erasmus+-funded projects already demonstrates a strong commitment to international cooperation and to advancing sport. This partnership provides a timely opportunity to deepen NOC Kosovo’s involvement in EU-related matters for sport.
