EOC EU Office awareness-raising webinar on climate change, nature and sport

On 3 September more than 50 sports organizations gathered to the EOC EU office webinar “Climate, Nature and Sport – Understanding the impact of/on sport and getting the basics right for a resilient sport organisation” to learn and share best practices on sustainability of sports. The webinar is a continuation of the EU co-funded OCEAN project that came to an end last year. The discussion highlighted several key messages: Climate change has a direct effect on sports at all levels of practices. Both economic and health impacts challenge sports organisations, which makes sustainability essential for building resilience of the sports movement. The EOC EU Office thanks guest speakers from the IOC, IUCN Sports for Nature, World Rowing and IBU for their inspirational and insightful presentations, and the European Commission for its support. In the webinar the speakers shared concrete measures and practical resources developed in EU co-funded projects that are available for sports organizations. We invite you to learn more about the tools for sports sustainability in the Ocean Toolbox and for you to join the next webinar taking place in early 2027.
