Expert Group on the recovery of the sport sector in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic released its final report

The final report "Strengthening the recovery and the crisis resilience of the sport sector during and in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic"  of the Expert Group on Covid-19 for the recovery and resilience of the sport sector in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic has been released by the Sport Unit of the European Commission. The final report represents the outcome of the Expert Group, which was launched in March 2021. Based on lessons learnt, the report sets a strong focus on the way forward, highlighting the importance of crisis preparedness of the sport sector, but also calling on national governments to prioritise sports activities and access to sporting facilities in potential future lockdowns.   Through its projects, SIGGS 3.0, OCEAN and GAMES, the EOC EU Office is proactively implementing suggestions outlined above, notably through the concrete guidance to implement good governance, environmental sustainability and gender equality in the context of the pandemic.
