Legal experts from National Olympic Committees across the EU met this week in Cyprus for the latest annual meeting of the EU NOCs Legal Counsels, reinforcing the importance of dialogue and cooperation within the European Olympic Movement.
The EOC EU Office provided an update on recent EU developments, focusing on the evolving case law of the European Court of Justice and its implications for sport governance and the European Sport Model. The meeting included insightful exchanges on key topics including athletes’ rights, esports governance, ethical considerations in sports development, and the field of play doctrine alongside the role of the CAS Ad Hoc Division.
At a time of growing legal and societal challenges in sport, the meeting once again highlighted the value of collaboration and expertise-sharing across the European Olympic Movement.
