On 13 May, the EOC EU Office hosted the Final Conference of the OCEAN project, bringing together over 100 representatives from sport organisations, sustainability experts, Olympic stakeholders, and European institutions. The conference celebrated the achievements of the project and showcased the resources developed in collaboration with 18 National Olympic Committees, International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC), and the Öko-Institut as a scientific partner.
All resources, including the newly launched OCEAN Sport CO2 Calculator – the carbon footprint measuring tool, are freely available for all sport organisations on the OCEAN Toolbox Platform.
Additionally, a compelling panel discussion, moderated by Maya Djuric (NOC Bosnia and Herzegovina), representatives of 5 NOCs (Czechia, Denmark, Luxembourg, Slovakia and Slovenia) reflected on the journey Climate Action Officers from 18 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) completed throughout the past 2,5 years. With words of support and encouragement from Julie Duffus (IOC) and Adres Santi (ANOC), the conference underscored significant progress made through the OCEAN Project, reiterating the need for continuous work and cooperation to advance environmental action in sport.
