European citizens called to vote for the European Parliament

From 6-9 June, 373 million citizens of all 27 EU countries will vote for the 720 Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) at the European Parliament elections. Voting began yesterday in the Netherlands, continues today in Ireland and the Czech Republic, tomorrow in Italy and peaks on 9 June with elections in all other Member States. Preliminary results will be available on Sunday evening, with live updates accessible here. The EOC EU Office is working on a mapping of MEPs and will keep its partners and EU NOCs informed.

From 10 June, the formation of political groups and their leaders will begin. These groups must be recognized before the inaugural plenary session of the 10th parliamentary term, scheduled from July 16-19, during which the Parliament will elect its Bureau, President, and Vice Presidents. The new president of the European Commission will be elected by the newly elected MEPs in mid-September.
