EU Directors General for Sport meet in Wrocław under Polish Presidency

On 11–12 June, the Polish Presidency of the Council of the EU hosted the meeting of EU Directors General for Sport in Wrocław, bringing together high-level officials from Member States. As the final sport-related event of the Polish Presidency, the meeting built on the theme “A new approach to the role of sport in education”, following the adoption of Council Conclusions on the topic during the Sport Council in May. Delegates shared national experiences on integrating sport and physical activity into schools beyond traditional physical education lessons. The agenda also addressed doping prevention in amateur youth sport and, most importantly, the development of the Erasmus+ Sport 2021–2027 programme. The EOC EU Office submitted contributions to representatives of Member States to support their interventions on the needs of the sport movement, and desirable improvements for the future programme.
