The Programme of the Danish EU Presidency has been published, setting out priorities across policy areas, including sport. The Danish Presidency, which will run from 1 July to 31 December 2025, is committed to strengthening the European Sport Model promoting fairness in international sports competitions, particularly in the allocation of hosting rights, and will launch a political discussion on how the EU can enhance cooperation with international sports federations to support democratic governance and transparency. The Presidency also underlines the importance of the early stages of negotiations on the post-2027 Multiannual Financial Framework (MFF), including efforts to modernise and improve the effectiveness of cohesion policy.
