BOOSTING INTEGRITY IN SPORT: A NEW PLATFORM INITIATIVE

The Social Science Research (SSR) recently launched a collaboration platform with the overarching goal of having an impact on the sporting system. More specifically, this is to be achieved by boosting integrity in sport, and, through this, raising the visibility of SSR.
International organisations are encouraged to come together and, through the platform, exchange their best practices and combine insights. In doing so, it is hoped that this will increase the adoption of SSR in the field of sport, namely, through funding and support.
Partners of the SSR collaboration platform include:

  • Council of Europe
  • EU Commission
  • International Olympic Committee (IOC)
  • Partnership for Clean Competition (PCC)
  • United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)
  • World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA)

Organisations will be given certain specific research areas to focus on, although overall themes such as athlete welfare/wellbeing, sport integrity, values-based education, sport governance or equality and inclusion in sport will also exist.
A link for further information about the SSR platform is available here, and a link to the survey regarding the tool can be found here. The Social Science Research (SSR) recently launched a collaboration platform with the overarching goal of having an impact on the sporting system.
