The Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport of Slovenia hosted a Peer Learning Activity in Lipica, convening EU Member State representatives to strengthen the evidence base for sport policy. Building on the work of the EU Task Force on Harmonised Sport Statistics and progress achieved through national Sport Satellite Accounts (SSAs), participants emphasised the need for robust, comparable data to underpin informed policymaking and sustainable public investment in sport. The meeting paved the way for the so-called “Lipica Conclusions”, which aim to set out a common direction towards a coherent EU approach to measuring the Social Return on Investment (SROI) in sport, reinforcing sport’s role as a strategic contributor to economic resilience, social cohesion and public health.
