Improving Governance in Sport: Final Conference of SIGGS 3.0 Project

The European Olympic Committees (EOC) EU Office is pleased to announce the upcoming conference “Improving Governance in Sport: SIGGS 3.0 – Your Practical Tool for Better Governance”, taking place on 27 March 2025 in a hybrid format (online and on-site in Brussels). This event marks the completion of the SIGGS 3.0 project (Supporting the Implementation of Good Governance in Sport Organisations), co-funded by the European Union, and will serve as a key platform to reflect on achievements, discuss recent developments in sport governance, and introduce the new SIGGS 3.0 self-evaluation tool.

  • The Importance of Good Governance in Sport – Jan Lehmann (CEO, European Olympic Committees) and Giuseppe Deleonardis (Deputy Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer, International Olympic Committee) will discuss how governance is central to sport organisations’ operations and the benefits of strong governance frameworks.
  • The Evolution of SIGGS – From its first iteration to SIGGS 3.0, the tool has expanded from 18 to 31 topics, now including key areas such as human rights, equality, and sustainability while integrating new technical features to enhance usability.
  • Official Launch & Presentation of SIGGS 3.0 – The conference will showcase the new interface, multi-language support, streamlined sign-up process, and real-time progress tracking features of SIGGS 3.0. Attendees will hear first-hand testimonials from early users on how the tool has improved governance in their organisations.
  • Date: 27 March 2025
  • Time: 11:00 – 12:30 CET
  • Format: Hybrid (online & on-site in Brussels)

To participate in the conference, interested attendees must register via the official event link. Upon registration, online participants will receive a confirmation email with the access link, while those attending in person will be contacted for further arrangements. Please note that only registered participants will have access to the event.

The EOC EU Office encourages sport organisations, governance experts, and stakeholders to take part in this important discussion on integrity, transparency, and good governance in sport. We also invite you to share this invitation with colleagues who may benefit from the insights and tools presented at the conference.
