Excitingly, on Tuesday 16 February 2021, EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel opened the 1st meeting of the High Level Group (HLG) on Gender Equality in sport.

This HLG was established in December 2020 by the Commission and is composed of 15 experts in the field of gender equality in sport. A list of selected members can be found here.

Following their 1st meeting, these experts plan to meet every two months to create and agree on proposals for the Commission, Member States and the Sport Movement. It is hoped that such collaboration will lead to the implementation of concrete actions at national and European level in the field of gender equality in sport.
