European Commission launches #BeActive Awards 2023 competition

On 16 March, the European Commission opened the submission for the #BeActive Awards 2023. The #BeActive Awards 2023 are designed to celebrate organisations and projects that have thrivingly promoted sport and physical activity throughout Europe.

The #BeActive Awards 2023  includes four categories:

  1. Across Generations award: this award, first launched in 2022, is intended to honour projects that encourage inter-generational sport.
  2. Workplace award: This award rewards outstanding workplace initiatives in the workplace that motivate staff members to #BeActive.
  3. Local Hero award: This award celebrates individual success in inspiring others to #BeActive.
  4. Education award: The goal of this award is to show how education may motivate children to #BeActive outside of the usual sports and physical activities they participate in during the school day.

Eligible organisations include public authority, organisations or individual that have successfully carried out a project aiming at promoting sport and physical activity in the EU Member States or third countries affiliated with the programme.

Applications are expected to be submitted prior to 24 May 2023 at 17:00 (CEST) via the Fundings & Tenders Portal. For further information, the  call is available here whilst winners can be viewed here.
