Four months after the UK’s return to Erasmus+ was announced, the EU and UK officially signed the decision associating the United Kingdom to the Erasmus+ programme in 2027 on 15 April 2026. From 2027, British organisations will be eligible for Erasmus+ funding, unlocking new opportunities for mobility and cooperation. At the annual EU-UK Forum on 16 April, European Parliament President Roberta Metsola welcomed the development as a prime example of EU-UK cooperation, framing it within a broader call to reset the partnership between the two sides.
