Estonian Olympic Committee joins the European Olympic Committees EU Office as partner

The European Olympic Committees EU Office (EOC EU Office) proudly welcomes the Estonian Olympic Committee among its partners.

The EOC is the umbrella body for Europe’s 50 National Olympic Committees and works to spread the Olympic values and inspiring sport and healthy lifestyles across Europe. Thanks to the EU Office of the EOC, the organisation defends the interests of Olympic sport organisations at EU level and has built strong connections with EU policymakers.

The Estonian Olympic Committee is the umbrella organisation of Estonian sport, responsible for elite sport, youth sport and sport for all and including both Olympic as well as non-Olympic sports.

The EOC EU Office is very proud to open new perspectives and fully dedicated to supporting the Estonian NOC in reaching its specific goals. At the same time, it offers its extensive expertise and network on topics and issues shared by all sports organisations.    Partnering with the EOC EU Office provides access to an experienced team ready to offer expert guidance on EU matters, with particular attention to funding opportunities, sport governance, and EU legislation related to sport.

The President of the Estonian Olympic Committee Kersti Kaljulaid commented; “As a small nation, we recognize that our strength comes from working together. By collaborating, we can effectively promote healthy lifestyles and advance the European sports model within the European Union. Joining the EOC EU Office’s esteemed expert network is a natural step for us in this endeavour.””.

EOC President Spyros Capralos said; “We are very happy to welcome the Estonian Olympic Committee as a partner of the EOC EU Office. This collaboration marks another step forward in strengthening the ties between European National Olympic Committees and ensuring a unified approach to representing the interests of the Olympic Movement within the EU. Estonia's dedication to fostering sports development, upholding Olympic values, and actively participating in European policy discussions will enrich our shared endeavours."

EOC EU Office Director Folker Hellmund concluded; “I am delighted that the new leadership of the Estonian Olympic Committee has taken the initiative to become a partner of the EOC EU Office. This demonstrates a strong commitment to European matters. I am confident that the Estonian Olympic Committee will bring fresh ideas and a spirit of openness to engaging in European projects in the near future. This decision will undoubtedly strengthen the EOC EU Office's partner consortium”.
