44th EOC Seminar addresses artificial intelligence, gender equality and sustainability

The representatives from European Olympic Committees (NOCs) and their dedicated Sustainability Single Points of Contact (SPOCs) met at the 44th European Olympic Committees (EOC) Seminar in Budva, Montenegro on 27 and 28 September. The first workshop focused on Artificial Intelligence (AI), offering NOCs the chance to engage with experts on AI’s expanding role in sports, from supporting athletes to promoting clean competitions and optimising performance. The second workshop gave space to the NOCs’ SPOCs to discuss how to sustainability holistically, including climate change and social responsibility with advancing social inclusion through sport and promoting gender equality, the latter two topics being central to the GAMES project. The OCEAN project, currently training 18 Climate Action Officers and soon set to provide NOCs with tools and resources for decisive climate action, was showcased as concrete tool for the SPOCs.
