HONOURING SUCCESSFUL INCLUSION THROUGH SPORT

Created on Monday, 06 Sep 2021 09:54:16

As part of the Erasmus + Programme, the #BeInclusive Sport Awards are back in 2021 in order to celebrate inclusion through sports.

The #BeInclusive Sport Awards have the objective to reward projects in three categories, namely 1. Breaking Barriers: rewards projects that demonstrate resilience; 2. Celebrating diversity: rewards projects that demonstrate tolerance; 3. Inspiring change: rewards projects that display inspiration and tell positive stories of empowerment. The winner of each category will be awarded €10,000 and the two finalists, ranked 2nd and 3rd with €2,500 each.

The types of project that are encouraged to participate should involve disadvantaged, marginalised or underprivileged groups such as individuals with difficult social, economic or educational backgrounds, people with a disability and/or health challenges and people of diverse cultural background such as migrants, refugees, ethnic minorities or people living with geographical barriers and more.

This competition would concern any organisation or public authority which has successfully developed a sport project aimed at social inclusion, carried out in the EU Member States or third countries associated to the Erasmus+ programme. The projects will not necessarily be transnational projects nor will necessarily be EU-supported.

The applications have opened on 26 August 2021 and will close on 21 October 2021, 17:00 Brussels time.
